Apollo's Ancestral Blade
The heirloom his father entrusted
The Ancestral Blade is the sword handed down through the generations of Apollo’s family, given to him by his father’s own hand.
On receiving it, he vowed to honor his father.
“My father entrusted me with this blade, and I will honor him.”
“父亲把这把剑交给了我，我会不负他的期望。”TL
Apollo does not treat it as a decorative piece. This family heirloom, he insists, is meant to be used, and he knows full well how to use it.
“The family heirloom isn't a decorative piece… I know how to use it.”
“这件家传之物可不是摆设…我知道怎么用它。”TL
The sword often draws remarks from others, too. Shiv once joked that it was a nice piece of “cutlery,” and Apollo shot back at once that it is a family heirloom, not something you pick up at a department store.
“Nice piece of cutlery you got there.”
“你那件餐具不错嘛。”TL
“It’s a family heirloom, not something you pick up at a department store.”
“这是家族传家宝，不是在百货商店里能买到的东西”
Faced with Yamato, who also carries a blade, he set the two side by side as heirlooms both; yet what Yamato feels for her own sword plainly goes beyond that. See Yamato's Sword.
“Mine's an heirloom as well.”
“我的也是传家宝”
