Yamato's Sword

This is an ancient blade handed down through the generations, and it now rests in Yamato’s hand. In her eyes it has never been a mere weapon; when others praise the sword, she has only one thing to say:

“It's family.”

“它是家人。”TL

— Yamato, to Apollo

The blade is indeed a family heirloom. When Dynamo asked, she readily admitted as much, but would say little about its history:

“It is.”

“是的”

— Yamato, to Dynamo

Apollo carries an heirloom sword of his own, yet when he sought common ground she flatly refused it: “You don’t understand.” On that, see Apollo's Ancestral Blade.

Toward outsiders who come too close, she shows no mercy:

“Touch it, and you die.”

“碰它一下,你就没命了。”TL

— Yamato, to Mo & Krill

So cherished a thing has drawn covetous eyes as well. Paradox of Paradox makes no secret of hungering for it, and once declared:

“I can't wait to steal that sword.”

“我迫不及待地想拿那把刀”

— Paradox, to Yamato

When Violet painted Yamato, she was certain that the blade was what anchored the whole portrait:

“That blade anchors the piece.”

“那把刀撑起了整幅画。”TL

— Violet, to Yamato

She has also asked Yamato if she could see the sword for herself.

Word on the Street

“Who would've guessed the woman swinging an antique didn't survive?”

“谁能想到这个挥舞着古董的女人竟然没能活下来?”

— Mina, to Yamato
