Billy's Bat

Billy’s bat never leaves his side. Whatever trouble Billy runs into, it is the first answer he reaches for. To him, this bat is a whole philosophy of getting through the world. He calls himself a man of New York.

He makes no secret of this creed.

“Ain't a problem alive that can't be solved with a bat.”

“世上就没有球棒解决不了的问题。”TL

He is no regular at the ballpark; it is the bat itself he loves.

“I ain't a baseball guy so much as a bat guy.”

“我与其说是棒球迷，不如说是球棒迷”

Facing a foe who carries knives, he is just as sure of himself.

“Bat beats knives every time.”

“球棒每次都能打败刀子”

Just as the ritual begins, even Violet will ask him in passing whether he’s bringing the bat. His answer is the same as ever: saying hi to members of the Friends of Humanity is a lot more fun with the bat in hand.

“It's a lot more fun saying hi to FoH members when I do.”

“带上它，跟人类之友的成员打招呼有意思多了。”TL
