Catherine the Great is the specter who leads the Soviet Empire. Under her protection, the Soviet Empire has flourished in a brave new world of mysticism.
Her deeper motivations are seldom known to the wider world, but one thing is certain: she hates being a ghost. To this end she has given the Empire’s spymaster a single task — find a way to make her corporeal once more.
The operative is known only by a code name: Raven. He has scoured the Earth for strange artifacts, apocryphal writings, and wisdom of the life beyond, and now he has come to New York, looking for a way to tether her spirit to the mortal coil.
Word of the Empress’s ambitions has spread through New York as well. Pocket is convinced that Raven is after the case he never lets out of his sight, and makes no secret of where he stands:
