The House Fire

The fire that took Grey Talon’s son and all his family is the deepest wound of his long life. His son, his daughter-in-law and his grandchildren — not one of them made it out.

Until then, he had thought his long years had earned him a peaceful old age.

“I thought I had earned a peaceful life…”

The fire put an end to that peace. When he speaks of his family, the old hunter’s voice catches again and again, and he can barely get through naming them.

“My son. My daughter in law. My... my grandkids.”

“我的儿子。我的儿媳。我的……我的孙子孙女们”

He knows that what was taken from him cannot be replaced; all he can do is make the killers answer for it.

“I can't replace what was taken from me. But I can make them answer for it.”

“我失去的东西无法替代，但我能让他们为此付出代价。”TL

The Patrons have both set their sights on that hatred. The Hidden King tells him he need only complete the Ritual to find the monsters that killed his son and his family; The Archmother promises that if he summons her, he will have his revenge.

“You're so close to finding the monsters that killed your son and his family. All you need to do is complete the ritual.”

“你离找到害你儿子和家人的怪物只有一步之遥了。你只需要完成仪式”

“Talon, summon The Archmother and you will have your revenge.”

“灰爪，召唤源祖，你就能成功复仇”

From then on, Grey Talon’s revenge has been bound up with the fate of the ritual. His daughter-in-law still weighs on his heart; even in the thick of battle, he has spoken of her. More is told under Grey Talon's Daughter-in-law.

When Apollo heard of it, he said without hesitation that what happened to the grandchildren was unforgivable.

“What happened to your grandchildren is unforgiveable.”

And when he crossed blades with Grey Talon and struck him down, he still told him he was sorry about his family.

“I'm sorry about your family.”

“我为你的家人感到抱歉”
