The Occult Industrial Complex is a vast system that binds magic, souls and industrial production tightly together. McGinnis calls herself its lead engineer, and takes pride in it.
She once told a companion plainly what she is:
“I'm the lead engineer for the occult industrial complex.”

As she sees it, she is no cog in the system but the one who truly drives it. She once told Yamato, head of a street gang, that she drives the whole industrial complex — he never had a chance from the start.
“Yamato, you run a street gang… I drive the occult industrial complex. You never had a chance.”
“大和，你是管一个黑帮……我管的可是神秘的工业园区。你毫无机会”
Faced with an enemy, she has a single answer:
“You can't stop the occult industrial complex.”

Not everyone is buying it, though. Billy declares that the whole system is going down.
“The Occult Industrial Complex is going down, baby.”
“神秘工业复合体要完蛋了，宝贝”
Dynamo says just as frankly that he never was a fan.
“Never was a fan of the Occult Industrial Complex…”
“我从来都不是神秘工业复合体的粉丝…”
Deadman Danny, for his part, told Paige that imagination is a powerful thing, but in the end no match for the occult industrial complex.
“Imagination is a powerful thing, but its not more powerful than the occult industrial complex”
