Ettrick

Ettrick is Kelvin’s companion from years past, a man of soaring ambition and reckless ways. At a fundraiser he once caused a scene in front of everyone, and after that he vanished without a trace.

“Whatever happened to your friend that caused a scene at your fundraiser? His name was Edward, Edgar, something like that”

“你那个在募捐活动上闹事的朋友后来怎么样了？他叫爱德华，或者埃德加，反正就是这个名字”

When Kelvin came back from the Arctic and returned to New York, he searched for his old friend, but it was as if the man had vanished.

“I don't know. I tried to find him when I returned to New York but it's like he's vanished.”

“我不知道。我回到纽约后试着找过他，但他好像人间蒸发了一样”

It is said that Kelvin pushed Ettrick away for his ambitions, yet remained a slave to his own. He has even declared that if anyone is going to kill him, it will be Ettrick.

“You pushed away Ettrick for his ambitions, yet remained a slave to your own.”

“你为了埃特里克的野心而疏远了他，却仍然沦为自己野心的奴隶”

“If someone's going to kill me, it's going to be Ettrick, not you…”

“如果有人要对付我，那也只会是埃特里克，不会是你…”

In the letters Kelvin wrote to Baba, the name came up again and again; yet when Baba asked what had become of him, Kelvin would only say he didn’t know, and sidestepped her when she pressed him.

“Whatever happened to that Ettrick fellow you wrote so much about?”

“你信里写了那么多的那个埃特里克家伙，后来怎么样了？”TL
