A generation’s finest, buried in ice
Kelvin’s Arctic Expedition brought together the brightest minds of a generation, and its destination was the Arctic. It was an Arctic Expedition launched with great fanfare, yet it ended with the whole company lost; only its leader, Kelvin, came back as a wight.
What he cannot let go of are the ones who never came home.
“I need to see the families of my crew mates…”

The sole survivor has, for that very reason, drawn fire from all sides.
“So the guy in charge is the only survivor, huh? Typical.”
“所以当头儿的是唯一的幸存者，是吧？真典型。”TL
Solomon says it outright: Kelvin’s arrogance led to his expedition team’s death. Mina has said much the same.
“Your arrogance led to your expedition team's death, Kelvin”
“你的傲慢害死了你的探险队，开尔文。”TL
“You know, Kelvin, maybe if you stopped underestimating people, your whole expedition wouldn’t have died in the arctic.”
“开尔文，你知道吗，如果你不再低估别人，也许你的整个探险队就不会倒在北极了”
Both of the Patrons are courting the survivor, and their promises differ. The Archmother tells him not to let the members of his expedition die in vain;
“Don't let the members of your expedition die in vain. Summon The Archmother.”
“不要让你的远征队成员白白牺牲。召唤源祖吧”
The Hidden King, for his part, says the expedition was no failure but what led him to this moment, and bids him finish what he started and summon him.
“Your expedition wasn't a failure… it led you to this moment. Now finish what you started and summon The Hidden King.”
“你的探险并非失败… 它把你带到了这一刻。现在，完成你未竟的事业，召唤隐王吧”
Nor was the expedition without a backer. Kelvin has mentioned a Mr. Fairfax who invested in his last expedition, and he is grateful for it to this day.
“If you see Mr. Fairfax please tell him that I appreciate his investment in my last expedition.”

Deadman Danny, though, advised him it might be best not to bring it up, lest he remind his backer of the failure.
“I think it may be best to not remind him of your failures.”

Nor can Nurse Harrow bring herself to be overjoyed at placing her well-being in his hands.
“You let an entire expedition die on your watch, forgive me for not being overjoyed to place my well-being in your hands.”

Kelvin told her she wasn’t there; she shut him down in a single line: he doesn’t remember either.
“And you don't remember, so spare me your indignation.”
