Holliday's grandfather
Holliday’s grandfather is a legend in the telling of the Holliday Family. Of his life the world knows little, yet his name is still spoken by those who came after him, and it carries no small weight.
The most tangible thing he left behind is a revolver, Holliday's Revolver, now held by his granddaughter Holliday. The man himself she never had the chance to meet.
“I never got to meet my Grandpa… but I know I'll make him proud.”
“我从未见过我的爷爷… 但我知道我会让他感到骄傲”
“Thanks. It belonged to my grandfather.”
“谢谢。这是我祖父的”
When danger closes in, she murmurs a plea for his guidance, as if he still stood behind her.
“Grandpa, guide my hand…”
“爷爷，指引我的手…”
A Long Shadow
That reverence is a burden as well. Abrams had barely begun to ask whether she was related to the man when she answered with a simple “Yeah,” and he summed it all up in a single phrase.
“Long shadow.”
“长长的影子”
Her answer: try not to think about it.
“Try not to think about it.”
“尽量不要去想”
Even The Archmother reminds her in the same words: her grandfather casts a long shadow, but she can still make him proud.
“Holliday, your grandfather casts a long shadow... but you can still make him proud. Summon The Archmother and she will help you find justice.”
“哈雷黛，你祖父的影响力巨大……但你依然可以让他感到骄傲。召唤源祖，她会帮助你伸张正义”
Haze shows no mercy, setting the legendary grandfather beside a granddaughter who is, by comparison, a disappointment.
“Your grandfather was a legend. You, however, are a disappointment.”
“你的祖父是个传奇人物。然而，你却令人失望”
