Die Zitadelle

A late husband’s work, changing hands

Die Zitadelle is a painting Johann Geist made in his lifetime, and it later became an old score Lady Geist could never let go of.

After she finished her first contract killing, Calico celebrated by buying this painting. When she mentioned it to the lady, the lady asked which painting, and she gave its name.

“You know, after I finished my first contract killing, I celebrated by buying one of your late husband's paintings.”

“你知道吗,我完成第一单杀人委托后,买了一幅你亡夫的画来庆祝。”TL

But this painting has passed through more than one pair of hands. Lady Geist heard a rumor that someone from Paradox had one of her late husband’s paintings, and demanded it from her face to face. The woman from Paradox first said that art wasn’t really her thing, then admitted that they had already robbed her: if she wanted the painting back, she would have to try to find it herself.

“I heard a rumor that you had one of my husband's paintings.”

“我听说你收藏了我丈夫的一幅画”

— Lady Geist, to Paradox
“Lady, we already robbed you. You're exactly the person to play games with. If you want the painting back I recommend that you try to find it. Good luck.”

“夫人,我们已经光顾过你家了。你正是我们喜欢戏耍的对象。如果你想要回那幅画,我建议你自己想办法找找。祝你好运”

— Paradox, to Lady Geist

For the lady, this tangle goes back a long way. She once railed that Paradox had first taken her husband and now would not leave her alone either, and said she had waited fifty years for this.

“First my husband, now me… when will Paradox stay out of my life!”

“先是我的丈夫,现在又是我,悖论…什么时候才能从我的生活中消失!”

— Lady Geist, to Paradox
“I've waited 50 years for this.”

“我等了50年才完成这个”
