The Betrayal

The betrayal struck at the heart of the 7th Moon. Brother and sister had planned to expand overseas: Kaori would stay in Japan to keep the home base running, while her brother crossed to the United States to build a new foothold. But the arrangement bred resentment among some of their subordinates, who would not accept Kaori’s rule in Japan, and a swift and bloody revolt broke out.

Yamato's brother died protecting his family, and with his last breath made sure that Yamato and a handful of loyal retainers escaped Japan.

Asked what brought her to America, she answered with a single word.

“Betrayal.”

“背叛。”TL

Pressed on whether she seeks revenge, she answered calmly, and with restraint.

“No. I seek to build a legacy. Revenge will come when it comes.”

“不。我要建立自己的基业。复仇，时候到了自然会来。”TL

Both Patrons have spoken of all that she carries. The Archmother speaks of grief and betrayal.

“You have overcome grief and betrayal to stand here today… but you seek to do more than just survive. Complete the ritual.”

“你克服了悲伤和背叛，今天站在这里… 但你的愿望远不止生存。快完成仪式”

The Hidden King reminds her that she has enemies back home who still hunt her.

“You have enemies back home who still hunt you. But once you complete the ritual only a fool would oppose the 7th Moon.”

“你在家乡还有仇家在追捕你。但一旦你完成仪式，只有傻瓜才会反对第七月”
