Mendoza Syndicate

The Mendoza Syndicate is one of New York’s most notorious criminal organizations, and it once held Spanish Harlem in an iron grip. Its boss shares its name: Mendoza.

Infernus worked for Mendoza in his early days; now, when it comes up, he says only that it was “a long time ago,” and that Mendoza “knew what was good for him” when he let him go. Vyper, too, was once one of the Syndicate’s own, until Ivy stepped in to stop her. Years later, Infernus still can’t quite swallow it: Mendoza replaced him with someone like her.

“Can't believe Mendoza replaced me someone like her.”

“真不敢相信门多萨居然用像她这样的人取代了我”

Mendoza has made no shortage of enemies. Lash loathes him, and scoffs that Mendoza “says a lot of stupid shit”; Wraith once took Mendoza’s word about a fight and lost a lot of money, and she insists time and again that she is no Mendoza.

“I'm not Mendoza, Ivy.”

“我不是门多萨，青藤”

What truly brought the Syndicate down was Ivy. After the attack, she spent nearly two decades on its trail, and at last drove it out of Spanish Harlem. Mo & Krill once called Mendoza “a good client,” adding that a good client and a bad man are “not mutually exclusive.”

“You're the gargoyle that rode Mendoza out on a rail, yes?”

“你就是那个赶走门多萨的石像鬼，对吧？”

Ivy has never given an inch on this, and there is always a hard edge to her words.

“I stopped you when you worked for Mendoza, and I'll stop you again.”

“你为门多萨工作时我就阻止了你，我还会再阻止你”

But that is not where the story ends. After the Fall of Mendoza, the streets are still asking whether the criminal empire is truly gone. Rat King warned Ivy to her face: she never finished the job and killed Mendoza, and he is out there biding his time.

“If you think you stopped the Mendoza Syndicate, you're wrong.”

“你要是以为你制止了门多萨集团，那就错了。”TL
