Coney Island

Coney Island is a playland on New York’s seashore, where rides and sideshow tents crowd together. A necromancer who had used the Cyclone roller coaster to harvest the fear of visitors was at last arrested, and Coney Island officials offered no comment; meanwhile, the performers of the Sideshow still take the stage amid the same din.

Celeste hides out among the sideshows here, and performs here too. To her the place is safe, and comfortable; only she has come to feel that fear can’t be the only thing keeping her there.

“Coney is safe. Comfortable. But I've outgrown it, and fear can't be the only thing keeping me there.”

“科尼岛安全，舒适。可我已经长大了，不能只因为害怕才待在那儿。”TL

Others speak of Coney Island in different tones. Some think she should’ve stayed there; others simply use it to taunt her.

“She should've stayed on Coney.”

“她本该留在康尼岛的”

“Go back to Coney, Celeste.”

“回科尼岛去吧，赛凌。”TL

When she speaks of it herself, though, it is in the tone of a host, even to her opponents.

“Sorry about that, Mirage. If you come up to Coney, I'll comp you a ticket.”

“抱歉啊，蜃景。如果你来康尼岛，我送你一张票”

And as the shadow of the Rat King draws near, it is still this refuge she worries about.

“Hope he doesn't turn on Coney now...”
