Hell's Kitchen

地狱厨房

The sheriff’s cheap lodgings

Hell’s Kitchen is a New York neighborhood scattered with hotels. Travelers who have come a long way with little in their pockets may look for a cheap place to stay here.

Holliday, a sheriff from the Midwest, took a room here when she arrived in New York. When the Doorman asked where she was staying, this was her answer:

“The cheapest hotel in Hell's Kitchen that I could find.”

“我在地狱厨房能找到的最便宜的酒店”

— Holliday, to the Doorman

The Doorman shook his head at that and at once urged her to stay at the Baroness instead, insisting the stay would be complimentary. She admitted that she was a sheriff from the Midwest and couldn’t afford a place like that even if she wanted to, but in the end she thanked him and accepted. And so her lodging in Hell’s Kitchen was no more than a brief interlude in her first days in New York.
