Manhattan’s skyscrapers and bustle
Midtown lies in Manhattan, a forest of towers whose streets are often jammed solid with traffic.
Graves comes from here; her parents have a penthouse in Midtown:
“My parents have penthouse in midtown, what do you think?”

And as she sees it, the dead do not rest quietly here:
“The dead are stirring in Midtown.”

The streets are no calmer. Billy has a riot to start here, and says so himself:
“I got a riot to start in Midtown.”

The New York Oracle once reported that someone in a Santa hat had been seen throwing knives here, and the report said outright that it was Shiv:
“A handsome sonofabitch in a Santa Hat was seen throwing knives in Midtown. Could it be Shiv? Yes. Yes it's Shiv.”

As for Silver, to avoid the traffic here she would rather kill time preparing for the Ritual than do her laundry:
