Marble Hill Possession Ward
马布尔山附身科病房
The Marble Hill Possession Ward is a ward in New York given over to the possessed. Those whose minds have been invaded by something from outside are brought here to be cared for by its nurses and doctors.
The ward has a most conscientious nurse in Nurse Harrow. Her rounds are her duty, and she holds that duty above any summons. When someone invited her to abandon her patients and run around Midtown with a bunch of miscreants, she turned the offer down without a shred of courtesy.
“Yes, ignore my duties tending to possessed patients, so I could run around Midtown with a bunch of miscreants. What a compelling offer, leave me alone.”

Even with the Maelstrom sweeping the city, she will make no exception. To her mind, leaving her post at such a time would be borderline malfeasance.
“It would be borderline malfeasance for me to leave the ward during the Maelstrom.”

Even when she is obliged to go out, her mind stays on the ward; she wants only to make it quick and get back as soon as she can.
“Can we make this quick, I need to return to the ward as soon as possible?”

Not every day on the ward ends well. Some patients survive their treatment; others are fully subsumed, with no chance of restoration. In such regrettable cases Nurse Harrow does not take matters into her own hands: she presents her findings to the ward, the family and the authorities, and leaves it to them to decide what happens next.

Violet once struck up a conversation with Nurse Harrow, saying that a friend of hers had been the nurse’s patient as a boy. Harrow said at first that she didn’t believe they had met, pressed for the friend’s name, and only on hearing it — Nick Tsai — remembered the boy.
“You work in the Possession Ward, right?”
