Curator Division

Keepers of dangerous objects

The Curator Division belongs to OSIC, and its business is “things”: every object that holds power passes through a curator’s hands, to be identified and reported. The other half of the work falls to the Sandman Division, which cares only about “people.”

Haze leaves no doubt about where the line between the two falls.

“Curator's care about things, Sandmen care about people. So until you become a threat to national security you're not my problem.”

“策展人关心的是物品,睡魔关心的是人。所以,除非你对国家安全构成威胁,否则你不是我的问题”

— Haze, to Graves

The same line marks the limits of duty. As a Sandman, she is not expected to recognize every curious object in someone else’s hands, and she cannot report what she does not know.

“I'm a Sandman, not a Curator. I'm not expected to recognize what you're holding and I can't report what I don't know. Now what were you about to tell me?”

“我是睡魔,不是策展人。没人指望我认得你手里拿的是什么,我也无法上报我不知道的事。好了,你刚才想告诉我什么?”TL

— Haze, to Pocket

A good word from the Curator Division is something some would dearly like. Paradox (of Paradox) once half-jokingly asked Haze to put one in for her, and Haze replied only, “Afraid not.”

“If we win I don't suppose you could put in a good word with the Curator Division for me.”

“如果我们赢了,我想你能否帮我向策展部门美言几句”

— Paradox, to Haze

For ordinary families, a curator’s visit is another kind of pressure. The mere thought that the OSIC might send a curator to her dad’s store fills Paige with dread.

“Oh god, what if the OSIC sends a curator to my dad's store…”

“天哪,如果OSIC派个巡视员来我爸的店里怎么办…”

— Paige, to Haze
