Ixia

Ixia is a nation in the Outer Planes, divided into South Ixia and North Ixia. The New York Oracle has even run travel tips for a vacation in Ixia, recommending it to its readers.

South Ixia has long been famed for its scenery. Dynamo, who resolved to stay clear of Astral Gates after what happened to his body, has heard that it is beautiful too; Grey Talon answered him only briefly.

“I won't lie - after what happened to my body I decided to stay clear of Astral Gates, but I hear that South Ixia is beautiful.”

Beneath that beauty, though, lie long years of turmoil. Five years ago South Ixia officially became the 52nd state of the United States, yet the fighting in Ixia goes on.

North Ixia, for its part, has its illustrious noble houses. Apollo is often called the prince of North Ixia, though he does not wholly accept the title himself; when Mo & Krill first met him, they greeted him as “the crown prince of North Ixia.”

“Well if it isn't the crown prince of North Ixia.”

The wars of Ixia have left names in people’s mouths: Wrecker is called “the Butcher of Ixia,” a story told under the Ixian War.

This land also has a hold on many who live far away in New York. Apollo has vowed to represent Ixia in the Olympics; Abrams, too, is called an Ixian. Infernus’s parents came from here, yet he himself feels little attachment to the old country.

Grey Talon’s daughter-in-law is Ixian, and he has let slip how he has missed the children of Ixia.

Ixia’s ties with the Djinn are just as delicate: after Mirage struck Apollo down, he worried that it did not bode well for relations between the Ixians and the Djinn.

Kelvin once said he was sorry about what was going on in Ixia, and asked Infernus how things stood back home, only to be met with a cool reply.

“I was born in New York. Home is right here.”

Mo & Krill, for their part, admitted to having moved quite a few pieces from Kelvin’s Ixian expedition.

Deadman Danny, too, has his eye on this war-torn market; when Apollo fell, he admitted it would make contract negotiations in Ixia more complicated.
