Jezebel's

Jezebel’s is a billiard hall and bar in Manhattan, run by Hank. It is an acknowledged institution, and all types come through its doors; one Thursday, anyone playing a game of pool could even get a free hot chocolate, and at the holidays there are martinis and mistletoe. Infernus tends bar here and is well loved for it.

To Infernus, this is more than just a job.

“He's nervous, but Jezebel's an institution, we won't let it close without a fight.”

Business is not what it used to be, and there is trouble with the Alchemy Bureau besides, which has Hank worried sick. Infernus says Hank saved his life, and the least he can do is save Hank’s business.

“Hank saved my life... Least I can do is save his business.”

“汉克救了我的命……我至少可以保住他的生意”

He once recommended the place to Viscous himself: if you like people watching, he said, you’ll see all types there.

“You should stop by Jezebel's sometime, if you like people watching you'll see all types there.”

“如果你喜欢观察形形色色的人，你应该找个时间去杰泽贝尔看看，你会看到各种各样的人”

Plenty of people have crossed paths with the bar. McGinnis finds it too fancy, but on hearing that someone else would pick up the tab, agreed to come and celebrate all the same:

“Nah, Jezebel's not my scene. Too fancy.”

“不，杰泽贝尔不适合我。太花哨了。”

Vyper plans on a drink there once the job is done, grumbling all the while that the drinks are overpriced:

“Slide in, pop pop, hit Jezebel's up for an overpriced Manhattan to celebrate.”

“滑进去，砰砰砰，去杰泽贝尔点一杯价格虚高的曼哈顿鸡尾酒庆祝一下”

Only, as Infernus once said, there is a reason that lady is not allowed in Jezebel’s.

“There's a reason that lady's not allowed in Jezebel's.”

“那位女士不被允许进入杰泽贝尔是有原因的”

Ivy once hoped to get a job at the bar and was gently turned down by Infernus, on the grounds that she would want to beat up a good many of the customers. Mina, for her part, needles him over the time he carded her on her sixteenth birthday.

Apollo sneers that Infernus wastes all his power peddling drinks in a pool hall; but to Infernus, it is an institution he will never let close without a fight.

Kelvin was glad to find the bar still up and running, and said he looked forward to celebrating there with Infernus once it was all over.

“Good to see that Jezebel's is still up and running.”

It stands in Manhattan, part of New York.

Violet had meant to ask whether the bar might lend itself as a venue for a show, though she admits she is no regular; once Infernus fell, that idea came to nothing.
