Blackmore Academy

Blackmore Academy is an elite private school in New York, its students mostly the children of the powerful and the rich. Everyone knows the Academy’s jacket: a single glance tells you where its wearer comes from. When the season comes around, its seniors are bound to plan a prank, and they are into all sorts of wild stuff besides.

On the street, its reputation is none too good. Mo & Krill once sneered that it is the breeding ground for Manhattan’s finest narcissists.

Those who come from here cannot shake the mark out in the world, either. Infernus, who runs a bar, says he is long since a grown man and doesn’t hang out with kids from Blackmore Academy — though he will kick them out of his bar.

“This is gonna shock you, but I'm a grown ass man… I don't hang out with kids from Blackmore Academy: I kick 'em out of my bar.”

Enrollment and Pedigree

Apollo is the Academy’s most brilliant student and captain of its fencing team, yet he admits that Blackmore doesn’t exactly offer him a challenge. He makes no secret that his ambitions are far higher than the school.

Graves studies here as well. Money doesn’t impress her; faced with someone flaunting their wealth, she tosses back nothing but a cool question.

“I go to Blackmore, you think money impresses me?”

“我去布莱克莫上学，你以为钱能打动我吗？”

Lady Geist has given money to the Academy, yet finds plenty to fault in the quality of its teaching, and told Graves to her face that she goes to this school. Dynamo shakes his head too, demanding to know what the hell they are teaching at Blackmore.

Former Students

Mina and Apollo are fellow Blackmore alumni, and Pocket also spent his youth here. He admits he doesn’t miss it one bit.

When McGinnis and Silver speak of kids from the Academy, both sound thoroughly unsurprised: to them, Blackmore Academy kids are all the same. Billy puts it more bluntly still: Blackmore Academy sucks.

Violet has no love for the Academy’s students either, and calls Apollo a “Blackmore asshole”; she has also told Graves that one day she’s going to realize how easy she has it at Blackmore.

Among the Academy’s students there is no shortage of well-born heirs who turn up at the door of a military R&D chief like McGinnis demanding an internship.
