Macomb

Macomb is a small Midwestern town in central Illinois. It is the hometown of Sheriff Holliday, and the place she once watched over. Here her gun hardly ever left its holster except for trick shooting at the county fair — until the murders began, one after another.

To this day the town’s name is bound up with a tragedy: see the Macomb Murders. Holliday has never shied away from that past; she says only that she let her town down once, and that she means to make it right with her own hands.

“I let my town down once, but I'm gonna make it right today.”

“我曾经让我的家乡失望过，但我今天一定要弥补过错”

Since coming to New York, she often measures everything around her against home.

“Lot more snipers here than back in Macomb…”

“这里的狙击手比马科姆多多了…”

Macomb’s shadow has followed her to New York as well. One man, having put her down, made a point of apologizing for what happened there; another urged her to go back while she still could.

“I'm sorry about what happened in Macomb, but that has nothing to do with me.”

“我对在马科姆发生的事情感到抱歉，但这与我无关”

“Return to Macomb while you still can”

“趁现在还能去，赶紧回马科姆吧”

Her enemies show her no such courtesy, jeering that she belongs back in the cornfield, and even saying that the people of Macomb deserved a better sheriff than her.

“Go back to the cornfield, Holliday.”

“回玉米地去，哈雷黛”

“The people of Macomb deserved better than her.”

“马科姆的人民应该得到比她更好的警长”

After putting the sheriff down, Deadman Danny was thinking, of all things, about getting Fairfax Industries to donate some money to the town, which should smooth things over.

“I'll make sure Fairfax donates some money to Macomb, that should smooth things over.”

“我会确保菲尔法克斯向马科姆捐赠一些钱，这样应该能缓和局势”
