Oathkeeper
Oathkeeper is a spirit imprisoned in the arm of Lady Geist. She struck a bargain with it, paying a terrible price in exchange for a second chance.
The bargain was no clean, once-and-done sale. Geist holds it in her arm behind a ward, and must feed it on schedule; and she takes the debt she owes it very seriously.
“My debt to Oathkeeper will be paid.”
“我欠守誓者的债会还清的。”TL
When Geist speaks of it, she sounds at times like someone holding down a wild beast, and at times like someone placating a creditor.
“Oathkeeper doesn't need to be fed yet…”
“守誓者还不需要喂养…”TL
“Oathkeeper has been sated.”
“守誓者已经心满意足了。”TL
Graves has heard it: it won’t stop screaming about what it wants to do to people. She declares that making a deal with such a thing was a fool’s move. Grey Talon, for his part, holds that it is not the rampaging monster, yet still insists it must be destroyed, and has told Geist plainly that if the Baxter Society knew about the arrangement, they would hardly have let her be.
“You're not feeding me to Oathkeeper.”
“你休想把我喂给守誓者”
Opinions of it are divided. Kelvin insists that the real monster is Geist, not Oathkeeper. Drifter claims to go back a long way with it, thinks someone as fun as that should not be kept under lock and key, and demands that Geist set it free.
“You're the monster, Geist, not Oathkeeper…”
“你才是怪物,盖斯特,不是守誓者…”
Some think little of it. Mirage sneers that Geist is in truth Oathkeeper’s slave, and insists that its might is nothing before the power of the Djinn. The Doorman likewise says its power is nothing compared to his own, yet he also warns Geist that the ward on her arm won’t hold forever: Oathkeeper is coming for her.
“I may be Nashala's servant, but you are Oathkeeper's slave.”
“我或许是那沙拉的仆人,但你是守誓者的奴隶”
Many see putting an end to it as the way to deal with Geist. Apollo declares that it will die with her; Geist, for her part, has told Haze flatly that Oathkeeper is not the OSIC’s concern. For the whole story of the bargain, see the Pact with Oathkeeper and the Soul-Binding Ritual.
