Lore
Henry's parents told him he was too young and impulsive to mess with real magic, and so they gave him a deck of cards to play with. He took to sleight of hand naturally and soon was dazzling his classmates with fantastic feats of illusions that were done without mystic artifacts or incantation.
When he was in high school he met Savannah, and their mutual love of stage magic sparked a whirlwind romance. Soon they fell in love and created an act together. Obviously they were meant to be; and so at prom, Henry proposed to Savannah and they married soon after graduation.
Unsurprisingly both sets of parents were not thrilled at this prospect, but Henry and Savannah knew they were soulmates. And so they cemented their love for one another by having a blood mystic bind their souls for eternity.
When an on-stage accident claimed both their lives, no one was sure who to blame. Henry claims Savannah was out of position. Savannah says Henry didn't wait for his cue. But one thing's for sure, since their souls are tied to each other neither one of them have been able to move on. Now a bickering pair of ghosts, Henry and Savannah need to work together if they want to have any chance of undoing their eternal union.
What They Seek
Undo the eternal bond between his soul and Savannah’s
Before they set out, Savannah asked whether they could pretend to like each other for 60 minutes, and Henry said he’d be optimistic and agreed. Yet the moment either opens their mouth, they are fighting over who drives the body; Henry even complains in front of everyone that his partner consistently gives it 35%, when without that effort the ritual cannot be seen through. And when the day of their parting comes, who gets the body, neither has said.
He treats the job with a condescending air, as if agreeing to take the stage and save the show were favor enough.

Biography
Only one figure stands on the stage, yet under the lights two voices are fighting over the microphone. One proclaims himself the Magnificent, the other the Spectacular: they are Henry and Savannah, sharing one body, and sharing too a grudge that neither will be the first to swallow.
Outsiders see only a magician flourishing his cards; only once he opens his mouth do they find that it is noisier inside him than any theater. Even at the most desperate moment, Henry still has to shout out his own stage name, as though every seat around him were still filled.
“I AM HENRY THE MAGNIFICENT”
“我是华丽大师亨利”
“I AM THE SPECTACULAR SAVANNAH”
“我是绝技行家莎瓦娜”
Origins
It all begins with a deck of cards. Henry was an impulsive boy, and his parents would not let him meddle with real magic; they gave him a deck of cards to play with instead. He took to it with no one to teach him: no mystic artifacts, no incantations, nothing but a pair of hands, and soon he was dazzling his classmates. Later, in high school, he met Savannah, who loved stage magic as much as he did; it was love at first sight, and before long they were partners on stage. At prom Henry proposed to her, and they married soon after graduation. Neither set of parents thought much of the match, but the two were certain they were soulmates, and they had a blood mystic bind their souls together for eternity, all so that their love could never be broken.
Then came the On-Stage Accident, and it took both their lives. In death the two became a pair of ghosts who never stop bickering, and the Soul-Binding Ritual that was meant to keep them together forever has become a chain neither can slip: with their souls bound, neither of them can move on.
About the accident itself, each tells a different story. Henry insists Savannah was out of position; Savannah says Henry went ahead without waiting for his cue. That old score has never been settled; all that remains are two mouths in one body, taking turns dragging it out again.
“Now see what happens when Savannah doesn’t get you killed”
“现在看看莎瓦娜留着你的命时会发生什么”
“Now see what happens when Henry doesn’t get you killed”
“现在看看亨利没害你会发生什么”
In life they truly had an audience, and a name. Mo & Krill say they really did have an incredible stage show; it’s a shame what’s become of them.
“Listen they really did have an incredible stage show, it's a shame what's become of them.”
“听着,他们以前的舞台表演真的非常精彩,可惜他们现在变成了这样”
In this city the two of them answer to a single name: Sinclair. Come the holidays, the shopkeeper solemnly greets each of them in turn: “Happy holidays, Sinclair. And also to you, Sinclair.” He doesn’t know if both of them can hear him, so he covers all the bases.
“Happy holidays Sinclair. And also to you Sinclair. I don't know if both of you can hear me so I'm covering all the bases”
“节日快乐,辛克莱。也祝你,辛克莱。我不知道你们两个能不能都听到,所以每个人我都照顾到。”TL
When it comes to agreeing first on who’s driving the body, Henry proposes they settle that before anything else; Savannah is the first to answer, “I am,” and Henry promptly adds, “She’s not.” This tug-of-war plays out every single day.
“We'll be ready to help once we agree who's driving the body (I am)”
“等我们先商定谁来操控这具身体,再准备好帮忙吧(是我)”TL
“(We'll be ready to help once we agree who's driving the body) I am. (she's not)”
“(等我们商定谁来操控身体,再准备好帮忙)是我。(才不是她)”TL
Their words mirror each other almost to the point of comedy. Henry says he’ll go fix Savannah’s mistakes; Savannah returns it word for word: “I’ll go fix Henry’s mistakes.” Each is certain the mistake is the other’s.
“I'll go fix Savannah's mistakes”
“我去纠正莎瓦娜的错误”
“I'll go fix Henry's mistakes”
“我去纠正亨利的错误”
Old Friends and Foes
Savannah and Henry: A Couple Forever Talking Back
Henry jeers that Savannah consistently gives it 35%; Savannah says, “I can hear you,” and Henry answers, “That’s why I said it.”
“I'd say we'll do our best, but Savannah consistently gives it 35%”
“本该说我们会尽力,可莎瓦娜每次都只肯出三成五的力”TL
“(I'd say we'll do our best, but Savannah consistently gives it 35%) I can hear you (that's why I said it)”
“(本该说我们会尽力,可莎瓦娜每次都只肯出三成五的力)我听得见(所以我才这么说的)”TL
Yet once they step onto the stage, each takes up their own place again. Henry styles himself the Magnificent, Savannah the Spectacular; each cries that no one upstages them, and each is waiting to see how the other’s trick will end.
“No one upstages me”
“没人能抢我的风头”
But when things truly get tight, even Henry will swallow his pride and ask her for help outright: “Savannah, I need your help!”
“Savannah, I need your help!”
“莎瓦娜,我需要你的帮助!”
The Doorman: The One Who Asks Them to Stay
The Doorman sees them more tenderly than anyone else, and more cruelly. They were in love once, he says, but that has given way to spite and jealousy; they don’t need a divorce, they need time together, and he asks why they don’t stay in the Honeymoon Suite. It runs directly against the separation the Patrons promise, yet it is not necessarily any less true.
“You were in love once, but that has given way to spite and jealousy. You don't need a divorce. You need time together. Why don't you stay in our Honeymoon Suite?”
“你们曾经相爱,可如今只剩怨恨与嫉妒。你们不需要离婚,需要的是共处的时间。何不留在我们的蜜月套房?”TL
Holliday: The Unsparing Spectator
Holliday truly has no love for magicians. She says it outright: she hates magicians. Yet when she came face to face with the pair she once asked, “What are you fighting for?” and, hearing the answer, said only, “Been there”: a rare moment of fellow feeling from her.
“I hate magicians.”
“我讨厌魔术师”
Sinclair and Holliday, exchange 1Fragment

What are you fighting for?

Been there.
When she turns cutting, she doesn’t hold back either: “Hope you’re better at fighting than you were at magic.” “Then why are you dead?” And yet, when they part, she still leaves them a “Good luck.”
Sinclair and Holliday, exchange 2Fragment

Hope you're better at fighting than you were at magic.

Yeah? Then why are you dead.

Yeah ok…
“Good luck Sinclair”
“祝你好运,无双魔术师”
Billy: The One Who Calls Magic a Con
Billy calls him a fraud. And he has kept careful account of being turned into a rabbit, too.
“My card was the 3 of clubs, but you never guessed it 'cause you're a fraud.”
“我的牌是梅花3,但你肯定猜不到,因为你是个骗子”
“I swear to god If Sinclair turns me into a rabbit one more goddamn time I'm going to punch the next person I see that even talks about a card trick.”
“我发誓,要是无双魔术师再把我变成兔子,我就揍下一个跟我提魔术戏法的人。”TL
Vindicta and Mirage: Weary of Their Infighting
Vindicta says that if the two of them got their act together, they might actually be a threat. Mirage, for his part, says that divided as they are, they had no chance against him.
“If they got their act together, they might actually be a threat.”
“要是他们能齐心协力,倒还真可能构成威胁。”TL
“Divided they had no chance against me.”
“他们分崩离析,根本没有机会战胜我”
Seven and Venator: Talk of Fate and Separation
Seven says he’d rather his fate than theirs. Venator, in the tone of a judge passing sentence, announces that he will separate their souls for them.
“I’d rather my fate than theirs.”
“我宁愿接受自己的命运,也不愿接受他们的命运”
“I'll separate your souls for you.”
“我会为你分离你们的灵魂”
Solomon and Graves: The Critics
Solomon says a magician is just a con man that gets applause. Graves, meanwhile, urges them to just get a divorce already.
“A magician is just a con man that gets applause”
“魔术师不过是个赢得掌声的骗子。”TL
“Just get a divorce already.”
“赶紧离婚吧”
Anecdotes
Rabbits. Turning people into rabbits is their signature trick. As he casts it, Henry tells whoever stands before him, “You’ll make a great bunny.” Its victims never forget: Silver still remembers the old score of being turned into a rabbit.
“You’ll make a great bunny”
“你会成为一只很棒的兔子”
“That’s for turning me into a rabbit.”
“那是因为你把我变成了兔子。”TL
Patter. When they unleash their greatest trick, their talk is all stagecraft: the grand finale, the one that always brings down the house.
“Now for the grand finale.”
“现在到了压轴大戏”
Copies. Plenty of people say they seem to be borrowing other people’s gifts. Victor says they didn’t copy his power; Shiv warns them that they can try to copy him, but they’ll never be him.
“Guess they didn’t copy my power.”
“看来他们没能复制我的力量”
“You can try to copy me, but you'll never be me.”
“你可以学我,但你永远成不了我。”TL
Marriage. About this couple, everyone has an opinion of their own. Dynamo says they don’t need the Patrons, they need marriage counseling; Celeste reckons the two of them deserve each other.
“Sinclair, you don't need the Patrons, you need marriage counseling.”
“无双魔术师,你不需要守护神,你需要的是婚姻咨询。”TL
“Both deserve each other.”
“他们俩真是天生一对”
Proclamations. Each of the two Patrons has a word of praise for the pair, and the two are mirror images of each other: one says the Sinclairs tend to their allies, the other that Sinclair is serving as “our shield.”
“The Sinclairs tend to their allies.”
“无双魔术师照顾他们的盟友”
“Sinclair is serving as our shield.”
“无双魔术师是我们的盾牌”
